I Look To You

“My soul, my life, my inner self, longs for and greatly desires the courts of the Lord; my heart and flesh sing for joy to the living God.” Psalms 84:2 amp
Today I want to speak to the hearts of those who are overwhelmed with uncertainty and fear.
There’s a song that I’ve been listening to this week by Bethel Music that perfectly describes the cry of my heart. It says: “God, I look to you, I won’t be overwhelmed. Give me vision, to see things like you do. You’re where my help comes from. Give me wisdom, you know just what to do.”
I needed to hear that. HE knows what to do. It’s in HIS hands. We don’t have to figure it all out. We don’t have to overthink or answer our questions. For God has poured out His promises time and time again, that He works ALL things out for those who love Him. (Romans 8:28) He has promised peace to guard our heart and mind when we are feeling anxious. (Philippians 4:6-7) He promises a way out when everything around us screams that it’s impossible. (Isaiah 43:16,19) He promises vision, when we surrender and exchange our heartbeat for His. and He promises wisdom and direction to those who ask. (James 1:5) It’s amazing that we serve a God who has a solution for every problem but oh how easy it is to forget when we are overwhelmed that He is still the God of miracles. There is nothing too hard or complicated for Him to fix or figure out. and there is nothing He will not do for one who truly longs for His heart.
I will be the first to admit that at times my mind will immediately hit the panic button, before I choose to dwell in His peace and His perfect plan. I’m the type of person that if I don’t have something to worry about, I’ll find something and that has been detrimental. So I’ve had to discipline myself and force a change in my way of thinking. Why should I worry when the plans that God has for me is a peaceful, extraordinary, hopeful future? (Jeremiah 29:11) and now that I walk in this new way of thinking (and trust me it’s been a fight to get here) I see Jesus and the work of His hand wherever my foot treads. I see Him standing in the rain, making the way clear. I’m in tune with His frequency, knowing that if a change comes, He has allowed it and has something better in mind for me. My trust is deep. As long as I stay obedient and faithful to the call, I will end up where I’m supposed to be.
Beloved, I may not know what is weighing on your mind, but I’ve been where you’re at. I’ve been overwhelmed, scared and doubtful. I’ve taken my eyes off the Lord, when I should have been running to His arms. For He was ever so present wanting to help and give clarity. So let me tell you from experience: if you are seeking comfort or answers from anything but The Holy Spirit today, then do not expect for a change in your mind or circumstance. You will just dig yourself into a deeper grave of worry and fear.
“Seek the LORD and HIS strength: seek HIS FACE continually, LONGING to be in His presence.”
1 Chronicles 16:11 amp
“But first and most importantly, seek (aim at, strive after) His Kingdom and His righteousness, His way of doing and being right, the attitude and character of God) and all these things will be given to you also. So do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.” Matthew 6:33-34 amp
It’s the trusting, committed heart who diligently seeks after HIS way, that will be given every key to the Kingdom. Heavenly vision, direction, wisdom, hope, peace. and love, will follow. There’s no way we can make it without those gifts. It will keep us grounded in turbulent times.
Cast every burden unto the Heavens, for you have a Father who deeply cares for your heart and wellbeing. Do not let your thoughts wander to what could be, but keep your mind fixed on the fact that it is God who holds your destiny. He does all things well. He is never going to let you down.
Love and Prayers, Kenya-Nicole
