The Infallible Word
By: Kenya Gossett
We are entering a time where a spirit of confusion has creeped in amongst the believers. There are two sides battling over what is right and what is wrong: misinterpreting scripture to further a cause.
Everything that Jesus said would happen in the last days, is now happening before our very eyes. Are we awake? Can we see the deception? Do we have the Holy Word of God etched in our very being to discern?
Believers who were once strong in their faith, are now slipping, following doctrines that are way off in left field. The hearts of many are becoming cold, shutting out what they know to be true. Some are starting to follow the very ones He warned us about.
“For false Christs and false prophets will appear and they will provide great signs and wonders, so as to deceive, if possible, even the elect. (God’s chosen ones).” Matthew 24:24 AMP
“But the Holy Spirit explicitly and unmistakably declares that in later times, some will turn away from the faith, paying attention instead to deceitful and seductive spirits and doctrines of demons, misled by the hypocrisy of liars who consciences are seared as with a branding iron, leaving them incapable of ethical functioning.”
1 Timothy 4:1-2 AMP
What are we paying attention to? Are we so hungry for signs and wonders, that we forget the Bible all together? Are we putting more trust in the opinions of others, than getting on our knees and seeking HIS opinion? Are we surrounded by the hypocrisy of liars with seared consciences? What happens when you are seared with a branding iron? It stops the flowing of the blood! The Lord uses that to show us that if we’re not careful, we could stop the TRUE Word of God from flowing, “leaving us incapable of ETHICAL functioning”. Which could then lead to a spirit of error and perversion.
Be wise, dear ones. Weigh the words of others AND their actions by the Holy Bible!
“For the time will come when people will not tolerate sound doctrine and accurate instruction that challenges them with God’s truth, but wanting to have their ears tickled with something pleasing, they will accumulate for themselves many teachers one after another, chosen, to satisfy their own desires and to support the errors they hold.” 2 Timothy 4:5 AMP
I am realizing every single day how important and vital it is to KNOW the Word of the Lord inside and out. I’ve had a greater desire in me to sit at His feet and learn, as busy as life can be. I want to be anchored by it, not going back and forth with the emotions of my soul or with what feels good.
Spending a few minutes in the Bible and in prayer doesn’t cut it for me. I want more. I want to know the voice of my Shepherd, so that when seducing spirits come, I can immediately say “No, this is what the Word says. This is not right. I know His voice.’ For many will come in His name and will look good, but are they true?
“Jesus answered, be careful that no one misleads you, deceiving you and leading you into error.” Matthew 24:4 AMP
Look at what happened to Jesus in Matthew 4 while He was in the wilderness. Every time the devil tried to tempt him, He came back with the written Word. But what stood out to me was that even Satan knew the Word of God and repeated scripture back to Him in order to further his case.
That’s a scary thought. If the devil knows the Bible, that means it’s possible for others to operate under the same false spirit.
For the Word of God is living and active and full of power (making it operative, energizing, and effective.) It is sharper than any two edged sword, penetrating as far as the division of the soul and spirit, (the completeness of a person), and of both joints and marrow) the deepest parts of our nature), exposing and judging the very thoughts and intentions of the heart. Hebrews 4:12 AMP
The Bible needs to be our foundation. Our rock. Our breath. Our source of life. It’s the only way we will know how to stand and discern in these last days. It is our PROTECTION.
Read it. Study it. If you don’t understand, ask the Holy Spirit to open the eyes of your understanding.
“Study to show yourself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of TRUTH.” 2 Timothy 2:15 KJV
Jesus is the same yesterday, today and forevermore. ALL scripture is God-breathed. (2 Timothy 3:16)
He is incapable of making mistakes or being wrong. There is nothing new happening that can not be pointed back to the Holy scriptures. Hold on to that! Let your heart keep its peace. Purpose to KNOW Him. Because in knowing Him, your spirit will know when a counterfeit comes.
Much love, Kenya Gossett
